The Izmir Metropolitan Municipality's 'Come on the Ice with Your Loved One' event at Bornova Aşık Veysel Ice Sports Hall on February 14, Valentine's Day, attracted great attention. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay, who came to the event attended by Izmir residents of all ages with his wife Öznur Tugay, said, "I brought my lover and came. Beauty will save the world and everything will start with loving a person. We will work hard to increase love and goodness in our city."
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality organized the “Come on Ice with Your Loved One” event at the Ice Sports Hall located in Bornova Aşık Veysel Recreation Area as part of the Valentine’s Day celebrations on February 14. During the event where a DJ performance was performed, Izmir residents enjoyed ice skating with unforgettable songs from 80s and 90s pop music. Free food, beverage and game areas were set up inside and outside the facility. Surprise gifts were given with competitions. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay attended the event with his wife Öznur Tugay and shared the enthusiasm of the citizens on this special day.
Ice performance
Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay, who was met with interest from citizens in the area outside the facility, did not turn away those who wanted to take photos with him. Mayor Tugay and his wife Öznur Tugay, who chatted with the people of İzmir, then entered the hall and went to the stands. The Tugay couple watched the magnificent ice performance of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality athletes Doğa Güner and İpek Kara. The young athletes then came to the stands. Mayor Tugay and his wife Öznur Tugay congratulated the athletes and chatted.

Simay Lafdinleten, who participated in the colorful events organized in addition to skating on the ice rink, stated that she had a wonderful day. Lafdinleten said, “I thought we would skate on the ice rink, but when I arrived I saw that there were various events. They were all very enjoyable. We scored a penalty, won a cup. Aysima Bozkurt, who had fun at the event, said, “I had a great time, it was a nice event. Coming from Manisa to attend the event on their 16th wedding anniversary, Nazlı Doğan Ergüt said, “There is a wonderful atmosphere. We are having a lot of fun. We came with our family. We had an incredible time accompanied by music. The Metropolitan Municipality prepared a wonderful event. We thank you. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. If you have found the one you truly love, marriage is the most beautiful thing in the world.” Nazlı Doğan Ergüt’s husband Abdülkerim Ergüt said to his wife, “I love you very much, my dear,” and received the response, “I love you very much too.”
