
In an operation carried out at the Habur Customs Gate by the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Trade within the scope of the fight against narcotic crimes, 631 kilos of drugs worth 370 million TL were seized.
According to the statement made by the Ministry of Trade, a suspicious vehicle that came to the Habur customs area to enter Turkey was followed within the scope of narcotics risk analysis and targeting studies carried out by the Habur Customs Protection Anti-Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate teams.
Upon detection of suspicious concentrations in the trailer of the vehicle, which was subjected to X-Ray scanning system control by expert teams, detailed searches were carried out with the participation of sensitive-nosed narcotic detector dogs and 2 million 176 thousand Captagon type narcotics were seized, hidden in the legal cargo.
In a statement made by the Ministry of Trade, it was stated that, "The investigation into the operation continues at the Silopi Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Customs Enforcement teams continue to be the nightmare of drug smugglers who target our youth with their successful operations."
