SAMULAŞ Served 2024 Million People in 71

SAMULAŞ, a subsidiary of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, offers services under many headings including trams, buses in urban transportation, SAMAIR buses, Odak Samsun buses and parking lots, and served more than 2024 million people in 71.

The 35-kilometer-long light rail system continues to provide service on the University-Tekkeköy line with 43 stations and 29 trams. In 2024, trams covered 2 million 767 thousand kilometers and made 102 thousand trips, carrying 24 million 86 thousand passengers.

A protocol was signed with the Ministry of Transport for the purchase of 42 trams with a high passenger carrying capacity of 10 meters in length and the tender was held. The delivery of the new trams will be carried out in 2026. Project work has begun on connecting the City Hospital and Public Campus to the light rail system.

SAMULAŞ, which expanded its service range by taking over the operation of bus lines in urban transportation in 2024, strengthened its vehicle fleet by adding 10 18-meter-long articulated buses to its fleet. SAMULAŞ, which also increased the number of daily trips to 720, made 11 thousand trips, covering 763 million 529 thousand kilometers throughout the year, and served 47 million 160 thousand passengers.

Continuing its work with a service-oriented approach, SAMULAŞ also offered many innovations to citizens in 2024. 1-hour transfers were made free of charge, and the validity period of subscriptions was increased from 30 days to 45 days.
