Indore Metro Revolutionizes Transport Infrastructure

Indore Metro continues to revolutionize the transport infrastructure in the city. The RVNL-URCC joint venture has begun casting the box sections for Package IN-04, a critical phase of the metro project. This major milestone is considered as a significant step in the construction of the city’s metro system.

Package IN-04 Details

Package IN-04 covers a distance of 5,2 km from Shaheed Bagh to Palasia Chauraha. The five elevated stations on this line are Shaheed Bagh, Khajrana Chauraha, Bengali Chauraha, Patrakar Colony and Palasia Chauraha. These stations will be connected via a viaduct. Each box segment is 8,5 metres wide and 2,1 metres high, forming the basis of the city’s metro infrastructure.

This package, awarded in March 2024 for ₹ 5,43 billion, is critical for the development of the Yellow Line. The Yellow Line will be 31,55 km long and will connect 30 elevated and underground stations, greatly improving Indore’s urban transportation.

Indore Metro's Wider Vision

The project, which is progressing along with Package IN-04, is also in progress with technical assessments for Package IN-05R. This will include an underground section of 8,626 km covering a larger portion of the Yellow Line. With these developments, the metro line will be a major connectivity point for suburban commuters of Indore once it becomes operational.
