Volunteer Fire Stations Are Increasing in Ordu

Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department continues its Volunteer Firefighting Project work in neighborhoods that are far from district centers, have high population density and have a mass settlement structure. In this context, training activities have been completed in 5 neighborhoods and training activities continue in Korgan Çayırkent.

With the work carried out, volunteer firefighters can intervene in fire incidents in the fastest and most professional way, while preventing and training fire incidents can be prevented.

VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS GO THROUGH ALL KINDS OF TRAINING

In the studies carried out by taking into account the geographical conditions of the province, the Metropolitan Municipality established volunteer fire departments in 5 neighborhoods throughout the province of Ordu, completed the necessary training studies and provided vehicle and equipment support to the existing neighborhoods. Participants who received 45 hours of training within the scope of the Volunteer Firefighting Training Program are provided with all kinds of theoretical and practical information about fire, while fire prevention and how to use first intervention effectively and efficiently are taught through periodic drills and trainings.

6 VOLUNTEERS IN 34 STATIONS

The teams completed their training in Akkuş Salman, Mesudiye Topçam and Erikköy, Gölköy Damarlı, Çaybaşı İlküvez. The training in Korgan Çayırkent is nearing its end. The Metropolitan Municipality, which has trained 6 volunteer firefighters in 34 stations, aims to spread the work to other districts if there is demand.

MATERIAL SUPPORT IS ALSO PROVIDED

On the other hand, after the training, volunteer firefighters are coordinated by the fire departments in the districts where they are located under the Fire Department Search, Rescue and Intervention Branch Directorate. In addition, volunteer firefighters are provided with equipment and material support, and they are allowed to take part in all kinds of training and other organizations of the fire department.
