Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Trials Successfully Completed

BEML’s Vande Bharat Sleeper Train has successfully completed its final trial runs and stands out as one of India’s groundbreaking innovations in rail transport. Designed as a semi-high-speed train, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is set to revolutionise long-distance travel by combining advanced engineering with unparalleled passenger comfort.

Advanced Technology and High Speed: Vande Bharat Train's Success Test

Vande Bharat Sleeper Train showcased its cutting-edge engineering by reaching a speed of 180 km/h during the tests. In the test runs conducted in different regions like Rajasthan and Gujarat, it was found that the train exhibited excellent stability even at high speeds. These tests proved that the train is ready to face all kinds of challenges in terms of safety, speed and performance.

Excellent Passenger Comfort and Safety Features

Vande Bharat Sleeper Train prioritizes passenger safety and luxury in its design. Made of austenitic stainless steel, the train is equipped with fire-resistant materials and pre-collision safety systems. Each coach of the train is designed with accessible toilets for disabled passengers, Braille navigation and ergonomic interiors, providing a comfortable travel experience for everyone. Additionally, modular pantries and odor-free toilets are among the features carefully placed to enhance passenger comfort.

World-Class Amenities and Technological Innovations

Each coach of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is equipped with modern amenities like integrated lighting, USB charging ports and foldable snack tables. The first class coach has special facilities like hot showers and spacious bunk beds. The aerodynamic exterior design of the train maximizes safety with sensor-based doors and fire barrier systems. The coaches are designed to meet high safety standards and meet the HL3 standard for fire safety.

Successful Trial Run Between Mumbai and Ahmedabad

Vande Bharat Sleeper Train showcased its operational readiness with a trial run between Mumbai Central and Ahmedabad. The train departed from Ahmedabad at 7:29 am and reached Mumbai Central at 1:50 pm. During the trial run, the train provided a safe and comfortable travel experience at high speed. This run demonstrated that the train is an efficient and effective means of transport over long distances. The certification process is expected to be conducted by RDSO (Railway Research and Design Organisation) next week, after which the route of the train will be finalised and it will be deployed for use.
