Toyota Unveils Future-Shaping Innovations at CES 2025

Toyota shared its innovations that shape the future at the CES 2025 consumer electronics fair, which is closely followed by the whole world and held in Las Vegas, USA.

Toyota announced the completion of the first phase of the Toyota Woven City, shown as the city of the future at CES 2025, while also emphasizing that 'mobility should not be limited to the world' and announced its investment plan in space and rocket technologies.

The first phase of Woven City, shown as a laboratory of future mobility and future autonomous cities, has been completed. Thus, Toyota has made another important announcement at another CES fair. The company, which announced its transformation into a mobility company at CES in 2018, introduced the Woven City concept at CES 2020. Now, the first phase of this city, whose foundation was laid in Japan in 2021, has been completed and it has been announced that the official opening will be held in the fall of this year.

Designing the city as a living laboratory and a constantly evolving project, Toyota will enable the development and testing of technologies such as autonomous technologies, robots, personal mobility, smart homes and artificial intelligence in Woven City. It will also host researchers from around the world.

The first phase of Woven City stands out with its environmentally friendly and human-centered design aimed at improving people's quality of life. Data from the first phase will contribute to the development of plans for the second and subsequent phases.

When Woven City is officially opened, it will house 100 residents, including Toyota and Woven by Toyota staff and their families. The community will then gradually expand to include other researchers and their families. The first phase is planned to house approximately 360 residents, while the second phase and beyond are expected to bring the total population to approximately 2.

Toyota also underscored the idea that mobility solutions should not be limited to Earth, as explained by chairman Akio Toyoda at CES 2025. Aiming to expand mobility from land, sea and air to space, Toyota announced an investment in Interstellar Technologies Inc., which will support the mass production of rockets using Toyota’s expertise.
