TikTok Reopened in the US

TikTok has resumed service in the US. Some TikTok users in the US are seeing a “Welcome back” message when they open the app.

Trump announces he will sign executive order to delay TikTok ban

The social media app's message reads, "Thank you for your patience and support. Thanks to President (Donald) Trump's efforts, TikTok is back in the United States. You can continue to create, share, and discover everything you love on TikTok."

Thus, access to the TikTok application, which was blocked in the country under the law that stipulated that it would be banned in the US unless it was sold to an American company, was reopened.

TikTok had announced a few hours ago that it was in the process of restoring the service in accordance with the agreement reached with its service providers.

“We thank President Trump for providing the clarity and assurance our service providers will not face any penalties for making TikTok available to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to grow,” the social networking app said in a statement.

The statement, which stated that this was "a stance against arbitrary censorship", stated that they would work with US President-elect Donald Trump for a long-term solution that would allow TikTok to remain in the US.

TikTok's statement came after Trump announced that he would sign an executive order on Monday to delay the TikTok ban.

Trump shared on the social media platform Truth Social, “On Monday, I will be issuing an executive order that will extend the time the law’s prohibitions go into effect so we can make a deal to protect our national security.”

Trump also stated that with the decree in question, companies that provide support to prevent TikTok from being banned will not have legal liability, but he stated that he wanted half of TikTok to belong to Americans.
