The Solar Power Plant Project to Provide Energy to 58 Thousand Households in Konya Has Been Approved

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they have implemented exemplary investments in environmentally friendly investments and renewable energy, and announced that they have now received approval for the 58.000 MW capacity Solar Power Plant (SPP) Project, which will meet the electricity needs of more than 70 households.

Noting that the solar power plant, which will be established on an area of ​​approximately 2 hectares in the Saraçoğlu Neighborhood with a budget of approximately 100 billion TL, will be one of the largest renewable energy investments in Konya, President Altay emphasized that the investment, which is extremely important for a sustainable future, will contribute to meeting the electricity needs of more than 58.000 households and will also make a significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions.

Stating that they will continue to make exemplary investments in renewable energy, as in every field, with the Konya Model Municipality motto, Mayor Altay thanked the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum and İLBANK General Manager Recep Türk for their support in the project.

The power plant, which will be implemented with the support of the World Bank and ILBANK, will be located south of the Konya Solid Waste Regular Storage Facility.
