
Konya Metropolitan Municipality will contribute to the revival of the Evil Eye Bead of the World with the Meke Lake Wastewater Recycling Facility, the first stage of which has been completed in Karapınar. Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that the facility will transfer the water to be treated in the wastewater treatment facilities they brought to Karapınar together with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change to Meke Lake, and said, “With this project, Meke Lake will regain its former beauty as soon as possible.”
Konya Metropolitan Municipality continues the Meke Lake Wastewater Recycling Facility Project, the first phase of which has been completed in Karapınar.
With the project, which is one of Konya's strategic moves in the fields of tourism, environment and agriculture, it will be possible to preserve the unique beauties of Lake Meke and carry them into the future.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said that they will transfer the water to be purified in the wastewater treatment facilities they brought to Karapınar together with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change with the aim of protecting and preserving Lake Meke, known as the “Evil Eye Bead of the World”, to the lake.
7 THOUSAND CUBIC METERS OF WATER WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO LAKE MEKE PER DAY
Stating that the project will set an example for the efficient use of water resources, President Altay said, “Our Meke Lake Wastewater Recycling Facility, the first stage of which we have completed and whose work is ongoing, will feed Meke Lake through a total of 8,5 kilometers of transmission line. Within the scope of the project, where 7 thousand cubic meters of treated water will be transferred to Meke Lake daily and 2,5 million cubic meters annually, both the ecological balance of our region will be protected and a contribution will be made to tourism. With this project, Meke Lake will regain its old beautiful appearance as soon as possible. At the same time, the continuation of the biodiversity in the region will be ensured.”
