Tefenni Municipality has taken an important step in order to make urban transportation more environmentally friendly and efficient. The municipality has put into service its completely domestic electric tram, produced from recycled materials, under the name of “Ayaz Ata”. The project was introduced in a ceremony attended by Zafer Party Chairman Prof. Dr. Ümit Özdağ. Tefenni Mayor Ümit Alagöz and Selma Ateş, sister of the late Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Ateş, also attended the opening. “Ayaz Ata” offers an important innovation in urban transportation as a completely electric tram with modern features.
The tram stands out with its environmentally friendly design and low-cost production. This tram, which can be charged with solar panels, also increases its environmental benefits by being made of 60% recycled materials. With a capacity to carry 28 passengers, “Ayaz Ata” aims to provide urban transportation in a comfortable and environmentally friendly way. Equipped with modern equipment such as electronic camera side mirrors, LED route signs, electric automatic doors and a diesel heater, the tram will strengthen the transportation network in the city.
Low Cost and High Efficiency
One of the most striking aspects of the project is its low cost. Tefenni Mayor Ümit Alagöz stated that the production of the “Ayaz Ata” tram was carried out by expert staff within the municipality with high efficiency and low cost. Mayor Alagöz emphasized that the tram cost only 600 thousand TL, while a vehicle with similar features is sold on the market for 15 million TL. This demonstrates the municipality’s success in domestic production and design. Alagöz also stated that they plan to produce two more trams this year, and expressed Tefenni Municipality’s commitment to domestic production projects.
Urban Transportation Will Continue to be Free
Tefenni Mayor Ümit Alagöz also stated that urban transportation will continue free of charge and that they will continue their efforts to provide better service to the district's people. This statement will allow the people of Tefenni to travel more efficiently without carrying an economic burden on transportation. Alagöz thanked the municipality employees and tradesmen who contributed to the production process of the "Ayaz Ata" tram and expressed his commitment to the project with the words "Everything for the Turk, according to the Turk, by the Turk."

In his speech at the ceremony, Zafer Party leader Prof. Dr. Ümit Özdağ congratulated Tefenni Municipality for this innovative and environmentally friendly project and said, “You have shown once again that great things can be achieved with domestic production.” At the end of the ceremony, the participants had the opportunity to closely examine the “Ayaz Ata” tram.
