Koçaş Calls for Railway for Aksaray

Aksaray Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) President Ahmet Koçaş met with members of the press at a breakfast program organized for Working Journalists Day on January 10. On this special day, Koçaş made important statements about Aksaray's economic, industrial and tourism developments and shared his plans for the city's development goals.

Strong Rise of Aksaray Economy

Koçaş emphasized Aksaray’s rapid growth in industry and trade. Stating that 2023 new companies were opened in 735, Koçaş said that 2024 new companies are expected to open in 680. On the other hand, the fact that approximately 200 companies have closed shows the city’s economic vitality. Koçaş said, “Aksaray continues its growth trend. Both new initiatives and employment growth prove that the city’s economy is growing healthily.”

Industrial Investments and Organized Industrial Zone Expansions

Koçaş, who also mentioned that important projects were undertaken regarding Aksaray’s industrial infrastructure, shared the developments in the Organized Industrial Zone (OSB). Aksaray OSB, where nearly 300 factories produce and more than 18 thousand people are employed, ranks 12th in terms of industrial parcel size in Turkey. Koçaş stated that new OSB projects in the districts are continuing rapidly and that new OSB areas have also started to be allocated in Sultanhanı, Ortaköy and Eskil.

Tourism Projects and New Investments

Aksaray draws attention not only with its industry but also with its projects in the field of tourism. Koçaş mentioned a large tourism project planned to be implemented in the Selime region. This project aims to make Selime an important center in terms of tourism. However, it was announced that there were some procedural delays due to similar projects in the Gülağaç region. Koçaş emphasized that these projects will contribute to the development of the city.

Furniture Manufacturers Site: Contribution to the City's Industrial Infrastructure

Among the projects that will strengthen Aksaray's industrial infrastructure is the Furniture Manufacturers' Site. This project, which will bring together furniture manufacturers currently scattered around the city, will be built on an area of ​​600 acres. Koçaş stated that they have established a cooperative for the project and that it will make a great contribution to Aksaray's industrial infrastructure when it is completed.

Railway Project: Strategic Investment for Aksaray

Koçaş, who voiced Aksaray's need for railway transportation at every opportunity, stated that this issue is not only transportation but also a strategic investment that will increase the city's industrial and commercial potential. Koçaş stated that they conveyed their demands for the railway project in their meetings with the Vice President and relevant ministers and announced that they are making intensive efforts in this regard.

Export Growth and Targets

Aksaray's export figures are also showing a remarkable increase. Aksaray, which made 2023 billion 1 million dollars of exports in 605, ranked 23rd in Turkey, while the target for 2024 is to rise to higher ranks. Stating that 2024 billion 1 million dollars of exports were realized in the first month of 167, Koçaş stated that they will continue this momentum and their goal is to reach higher export figures.
