In Kayseri, Public Transportation Vehicles Will Get Their Energy from Wind

The mechanical installations of the Wind Power Plant of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, which is the first RES project in the public transportation sector in Turkey and consists of 3 turbines to meet the public transportation needs, were completed in a short time.

The RES project, which is among the energy investments carried out in line with the sensitivity shown by the Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç regarding renewable and clean energy, progressed rapidly and the mechanical installation was completed.

Mechanical Assembly of Giant Wind Turbines Equivalent to a 65-Storey Building Completed

The shipment of 80 vehicles consisting of giant turbine parts started from Izmir Alsancak Port and was brought to Kayseri step by step. The giant parts, the largest of which is 81,5 meters long and the heaviest of which weighs 155 tons, were assembled and reached a top height of 194,5 meters, which is equivalent to a 65-story building, and all three of the giant wind turbines were built.

Testing and commissioning work continues for the RES, the mechanical installations of which have been completed.

Clean and Renewable Energy Sensitivity

In line with Mayor Büyükkılıç’s sensitivity towards clean and renewable energy, the Metropolitan Municipality, which has diversified renewable energy production by including Wind Power Plants as well as Solar Power Plants on its agenda, continues its activities rapidly within this scope. The Metropolitan Municipality’s RES project, which is being carried out in accordance with the circular published by the Presidency regarding the use of public resources based on savings and efficiency, has been recorded as the first RES project in Turkey’s public transportation sector.

Wind Energy Aims for Sustainable Green Transportation for Future Generations

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, which aims to provide sustainable green transportation for future generations from wind energy, is trying to complete its work quickly for energy production using its own resources in public transportation services with this project, while the renewable energy project, which will produce 21 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year with a power of 60 megawatts, will reinforce Kayseri's place among environmentally friendly cities by reducing its carbon footprint.
