
Mamak Municipality employees Ese Güler (53), Mustafa Ali Köksal (38) and Emre Soylu (39), who lost their lives when a truck overturned on them after its brakes failed in the İmrahor region yesterday morning, were sent off on their final journey with a ceremony held in front of the Mamak Municipality building.
The ceremony was attended by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Republican People's Party Ankara Deputies, Mamak Mayor Veli Gündüz Şahin, Republican People's Party Ankara Provincial Chairman Ümit Erkol, district mayors, district chairmen of political parties, members of the assembly, deputy mayors, municipal bureaucrats, and many Mamak residents. Prayers were read at the coffins of the deceased, who were sent on their final journey by their families and loved ones in tears, and forgiveness was sought.
Mamak Mayor Veli Gündüz Şahin stated that they were deeply saddened by the loss of their colleagues and offered his condolences to the bereaved families, relatives and colleagues of the personnel.
Şahin said, “Our pain is great. We are witnessing one of those moments when words get stuck in our throats. I pray to God for mercy, patience and condolences to the grieving family, relatives and all colleagues. May our rights be forgiven for our brothers. May their resting places be heaven.”
Emre Soylu's funeral will be held in the Çorum Misler Ovacık Village, while Ese Güner and Mustafa Ali Köksal's funerals will be held in the Ortaköy cemetery.
