Farmers Will Be Provided with Agricultural Insurance Cost Support

While the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry decided to put new practices into effect for producers this year in the Agricultural Insurance Pool (TARSİM), a 10 percent discount was made in production planning and at least 10 percent discount was made in contracted production.

TARSİM applications are expanded every year, taking into account the needs of producers.

In this context, a number of innovations and discounts were introduced within the scope of agricultural insurance for 2025.

This year, a 10 percent agricultural production planning discount will be applied to all of the insurances in question, and a 5 percent membership discount will be applied to producers who are members of agricultural unions and cooperatives that have earned the right to receive a first-degree agricultural organization certificate.

The contracted production discount applied in plant product insurance as 5 percent was increased to 15 percent.

A 10 percent water restriction support discount was made on the agricultural insurance policy premium of producers who produce in accordance with the determined criteria in regions with water restrictions.

“Deer damage” to field crops, vegetables, saplings and strawberries was also covered.

Frost damage during the leafing period of potatoes and mushroom products are also included in the scope of coverage.

State premium support in Village-Based Yield Insurance was increased from 60 percent to 70 percent. Oil sunflower was included in the coverage of this insurance.

GREENHOUSE INSURANCE

In greenhouse insurance, storm coverage was also added to greenhouses in risk category 5. The measurement tolerance based on risk assessment studies conducted in greenhouses was accepted as a maximum of 10 percent of the greenhouse area in the Ministry's registration systems.

After wheat, barley was also included in the Income Protection Insurance. In addition, 10 percent production planning and water restriction support discounts were made, while the contracted production discount was increased to 15 percent.

LARGE ANIMAL LIFE INSURANCE

In Cattle Life Insurance, a 10 percent production planning discount is applied on the policy premium, while the contracted production discount applied as 5 percent was increased to 10 percent. The free-range discount applied in insurance tariffs was increased from 10 percent to 15 percent. A 20 percent free-range discount was made for female dairy cattle aged 15 months and over, and abortion coverage was added to the tariff.

The insurance period for breeding cattle, dairy cattle and buffalos has been extended from 7 to 9 years of age.

The 15-1 head scale business discount of 30 percent, which is applied only in comprehensive tariffs for large cattle, will also be applied to the tariff for dairy cattle aged 20 months and over.

In case of collective policy arrangements in first-degree agricultural organizations, the ranges for the number of animals in the discount rates to be applied have been reduced and revised in favor of breeders.

In addition, the state premium support rate for dairy cattle aged 20 months and above was increased from 50 percent to 60 percent.

SMALL ANIMALS INSURANCE

The contracted production discount applied as 5 percent in Small Animal Life Insurance was increased to 10 percent. The free-range discount applied in comprehensive insurance tariffs was increased from 10 percent to 15 percent. In this context, a 12 percent free-range discount was put into effect for female animals aged 15 months and over.

In case of collective policies for small livestock in agricultural organizations, the range of animal numbers in the discount rates to be applied has been reduced.

SILKWORM BREEDING ADDED TO STATE SUPPORTED AGRICULTURAL INSURANCE

This year, Sericulture Insurance was included in state-supported agricultural insurance branches for the first time.

Damages incurred due to storm, tornado, fire, landslide, earthquake, vehicle collision, flood and inundation risks in seeds, larvae (caterpillars), silkworms and cocoons registered in the ministry system and fed as table, crayfish and ground feed were included in the scope of coverage. In addition, a 10 percent contracted production discount was introduced.

On the other hand, life and beekeeping insurance policies for poultry and aquaculture products will continue this year.
