
The Snow Rugby Turkey Championship, organized by the Turkish Rugby Federation, has started, hosted by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Erciyes Inc. and Erciyes Ski Center. In the championship, where 120 athletes compete, the women's and men's teams are competing in tough matches.
Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Erciyes Inc. is hosting the Snow Rugby Turkey Championship at Erciyes Ski Resort. This exciting event, organized by the Turkish Rugby Federation, is taking place at Erciyes Ski Resort, famous for its winter sports.
A total of 5 athletes from 5 women's and 120 men's teams participated in the championship held in Tekir Kapı. Teams from all over Turkey compete fiercely on the snow, providing unforgettable moments for the audience. The championship was the center of attention not only for rugby enthusiasts but also for winter sports enthusiasts.
Erciyes A.Ş. Board Chairman Hamdi Elcuman, in his statement here, said, “Erciyes is organizing a first again. We are hosting many national and international sports. We organized grass rugby in the summer, now we are doing snow rugby with our Youth and Sports Ministry and our federation.”

Emphasizing that the athletes were very pleased, Elcuman noted that Erciyes would continue to host many branches of sports and different events, and thanked Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç for providing this opportunity.
Turkish Rugby Federation President Nahit Şahin stated that they held the 2025 Snow Rugby Turkey Championship in Kayseri, and said that they organized snow rugby to promote the rugby branch nationwide and make it more entertaining, that there are currently 120 athletes, and that they aim to turn it into an international championship next year.
Şahin thanked Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality and said, “All our athletes are happy, Kayseri is magnificent, Erciyes is magnificent. We will turn it into an international event and use it as a tool for the promotion of both Kayseri and our rugby branch. I wish success to all our athletes.”
The best snow rugby teams in Turkey will be determined at the end of the championship, where the qualifying matches will be held on January 11 and the final matches will be held on January 12.
