
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change imposed a total of 6 million TL in fines on Tekirdağ and Balıkesir metropolitan municipalities and 10 businesses during inspections carried out in the Marmara Sea Basin between January 4-10,3.
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change continues its simultaneous inspection and monitoring activities in 22 provinces within the scope of the 7-article Marmara Sea Action Plan implemented within the scope of the fight against mucilage. In 6 inspections carried out between January 10-389, administrative fines varying in amount were imposed on businesses causing water pollution in Tekirdağ, Yalova and Balıkesir due to operations contrary to environmental legislation and discharge of polluted water.
4,3 MILLION TL FINE TO TWO MUNICIPALITIES
A total of 3 million 4 thousand 346 TL administrative fine was imposed on the Water and Sewerage Administration of Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality and 465 wastewater treatment plants operated by Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, which were found to be operating in violation of the procedures and principles set out in the environmental legislation.
AUDITS CONTINUE
A total of 6 million 49 thousand 136 TL administrative fines were imposed on an olive processing facility and a waste processing facility in Tekirdağ, a ready-mixed concrete facility in Yalova, and an organized industrial zone in Balıkesir. Ministry teams continue their inspections in the Marmara Basin.
