BMC Delivered the First Serial Production Domestic Tactical Armored Vehicles to the Turkish Armed Forces

BMC, which encourages domestic production in Turkey's defense industry and draws attention with its investments aimed at increasing independence in this area, took an important step by delivering the first mass-produced domestic and national motorized tactical wheeled armored vehicles to the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF). These vehicles were designed by Turkish engineers and manufactured at the BMC facilities in Pınarbaşı, İzmir. The delivery ceremony was attended by senior officials such as the President of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün and BMC Chairman of the Board of Directors Fuat Tosyalı.

Local and National Engine Technology

BMC's domestic motorized tactical wheeled armored vehicles are an important milestone in line with Turkey's strategic goals in the defense industry. Designed under the leadership of the Presidency of Defense Industries and with the devoted efforts of Turkish engineers, these vehicles offer the fruits of BMC's major investments in technology and R&D. BMC aims to reduce foreign dependency and achieve higher localization rates in the defense industry by providing the engines of the vehicles with domestic production.

Strengthening Domestic Production in the Defense Industry

BMC continues to contribute to the domestic production targets in the defense industry. Having previously produced various military land vehicles such as main battle tanks, armored vehicles, and military trucks, BMC is now expanding this area even further with domestic motorized armored vehicles. In the first stage, 100 domestic motorized tactical wheeled armored vehicles were delivered. These vehicles are offered to the Turkish Armed Forces for use in various missions. Following the delivery, 50 VURAN and 40 VURAN vehicles were delivered to the Land Forces Command and the Gendarmerie General Command.

Success of BMC's Domestic Motor Vehicles

These domestically produced motor vehicles by BMC symbolize a significant success in the defense industry. BMC Chairman Fuat Tosyalı, in his statement regarding the delivery, stated that the company is proud to receive the reward of the investments it has made to date. The VURAN and KİRPİ vehicles produced by BMC stand out with their 95% localization rate. This high localization rate is seen as a major step towards achieving Turkey's goals of increasing its independence in the defense industry and reducing external dependency.

Testing Processes and Performance

BMC's domestically produced motorized tactical wheeled armored vehicles have successfully passed the tough tests. The 400 horsepower TUNA engines produced by BMC POWER have been tested for over 6.500 hours in the test center and on 140 thousand kilometers of vehicles, successfully completing NATO endurance tests. These tests prove that the vehicles are optimized to adapt to all types of terrain and weather conditions. These vehicles, developed to fully respond to the tactical needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, have been made operationally ready for use on duty.

Future Goals

Defense Industry President Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, in his statements regarding the delivery, stated that the work to increase domestic production capacity will continue without slowing down. He stated that in the future, the focus will be on new generation technological vehicles and engine development studies. In this direction, considering the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, it is aimed to increase domestic production and provide more independence in the defense industry.

BMC's domestic motorized tactical wheeled armored vehicles symbolize a significant success in Turkey's defense industry. The high localization rate, the success of Turkish engineers and the vehicles that successfully passed rigorous tests were designed and manufactured to meet the operational needs of the Turkish Armed Forces. This development can be considered an indication that Turkey is moving forward with confident steps towards a more independent future in the defense industry. These achievements of BMC reinforce the increasing importance of domestic production and Turkey's global competitiveness in the defense industry.
