Additional Bus Services Started for GAÜN Nizip Campus

Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin did not leave unanswered the demands of students at Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Nizip Campus regarding inadequate transportation, and with the instructions given by the mayor, improvements were made to the bus services with additional trips and the number was increased.

For students who have been suffering from inadequate public transportation services between GAÜN Nizip Campus and Nizip Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) Girls' and Boys' Dormitories for a long time, the Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department has started new bus services with the plan it has created.

NEW FLIGHTS ADDED TO EXISTING FLIGHTS

With the improvement, two buses assigned will operate between GAÜN Nizip Campus and Nizip KYK Girls' and Boys' Dormitories at half-hourly intervals.

In response to the students' demands, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin contacted dormitory managers and students in the evening. Mayor Şahin, who gave instructions for the students' demands, resolved the problems in the morning.

Stating that they were very pleased with the start of the first bus services, Kübra Özdemir, a 3rd year student of Turkish Language Teaching at GAÜN Nizip Campus, said, “I have been here in Nizip for 3 years. We were experiencing great difficulties in transportation and these difficulties were not being resolved. Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin helped us in this regard. The buses started operating. We had many complaints, we were experiencing many difficulties. After all, this is an educational institution and an educational city. We are very proud of the support Fatma Şahin provided us. We thank her very much, we are very grateful to Mayor Şahin.”

Reyhan Kurt, a first-year student of Classroom Teaching, stated that she has been living in Nizip for 1 months and said, “We applied to the Metropolitan Municipality due to the problems we have experienced. A meeting was held with the dormitory administration and Mayor Fatma Şahin last night. As a result of the meeting, the services started to operate systematically together with the line. We thank them for their interest in this matter.”
