The price hikes on kitchen gas cylinders continue to strain citizens' budgets. The prices of kitchen gas cylinders, which increased by 2024 percent in 58,2, will be increased by another 11 percent as of January 2025, 7.
Üçay Engineering Operations Director Zafer Çüman, who stated that natural gas is 10 times cheaper than bottled gas, drew attention to the annual savings of approximately 7.874 TL that will be provided by converting the bottled gas stove to natural gas.
The price hikes on kitchen gas cylinders continue to burn a hole in citizens’ pockets. Gas cylinders, which rose to 11 TL as of January 2025, 965, are among the fixed expenses that cause the most spending in homes.
Stating that natural gas is 10 times more economical than bottled gas, Üçay Engineering Operations Director Zafer Çüman drew attention to the contribution to the household economy through the use of natural gas.
Approximately 7.874 TL can be contributed to the household economy annually.
“With the latest price hike, the price of a 12 kg kitchen gas cylinder has become 965 TL. The average annual gas cylinder expense of a household that uses an average of 9 gas cylinders per year for cooking purposes has reached 8.685 TL. However, by switching to natural gas, which is an alternative and clean energy source, it is possible for households to reduce this expense item by up to 90 percent. Because the usage fee of 12 cubic meters of natural gas, which is equivalent to a 16 kg kitchen gas cylinder, is approximately 90 TL. This means that a household that uses natural gas contributes approximately 7.874 TL to the household economy annually,” he said.
“There is no risk of explosion or pressured parts like LPG cylinders”
Zafer Çüman also stated in his speech that natural gas is a safer option than bottled gas:
“Low-pressure natural gas installations and devices do not have the risk of explosion and pressurized parts like LPG cylinders. Natural gas is lighter than air and therefore, in the event of a leak, it quickly mixes with the air and evaporates. LPG, which weighs more than air, accumulates in the lower parts of the volume and becomes more flammable and explosive. Therefore, natural gas is one of the most reliable energy sources,” he concluded.
