Sensor-based Blood Sugar Measuring Device Included in SSI Reimbursement Scope

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan announced that "glucose monitoring devices with sensors" that eliminate the need for finger-prick blood sugar measurements in children with type 18 diabetes under the age of 1 and allow continuous blood sugar monitoring have been included in the scope of reimbursement.

Minister of Labor and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan announced that regulations for citizens with Type 1 Diabetes were put into practice with the Health Implementation Communiqué announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and published in the Official Gazette.

Minister Işıkhan's statement included the following: "The 'Continuous Subcutaneous Glucose Monitoring System', which our children under the age of 18 with Type 1 Diabetes need to monitor their blood sugar, has been included in the reimbursement list by our Social Security Institution."

Işıkhan, who stated that citizens will be able to obtain the measuring devices that will receive approval from the Scientific Commission from medical stores in a short time with the prescription of specialist physicians, said, “The health and peace of our children is our top priority. I hope it will be beneficial for our precious children with Type 1 Diabetes and their families, and I wish our patients a recovery.”
