The women farmers who came together in the organization of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality visited the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Distillation Center and had a nice day traveling from Derbent to Kuzuyayla with the Kartepe cable car. The 100 women farmers who came together in the program organized in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality Mukhtar Affairs Department Agricultural Services Branch Directorate and the Women and Family Services Department Presidency first visited the Distillation Center established in İzmit within the scope of the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Project (TABİP).
VISIT TO THE DISTILLATION CENTER
Women farmers engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry in Kocaeli received information from SekaPark A.Ş. officials about the operations at the Distillation Center, where essential oils are obtained from medicinal and aromatic plants such as rosemary, medicinal mint and lemon balm (balm) harvested within the scope of TABİP and these products are used in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food supplement sectors.
THEY HAD A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE WITH THE CABLE CAR
Later, the farmers had a unique experience on the Kartepe cable car journey from Derbent to Kuzuyayla, which has been Kocaeli's 50-year dream. The women farmers who went to the summit with the cable car from Derbent and had the opportunity to see the natural beauties of Kartepe, immortalized this moment by watching the unique view from a bird's eye view on the enjoyable journey to Kuzuyayla Nature Park.

Having spent a pleasant day with the Kartepe cable car, which has attracted great attention from local and foreign tourists since it was put into service and is among the safest cable car lines in Turkey, women farmers lastly took a tour in the Kuzuyayla Nature Park.

Women farmers, who stated that they had a unique experience by watching the natural beauties during their safe journey with the Kartepe cable car, thanked the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality for organizing such a beautiful organization. Gül Ataman, who does animal husbandry in the Solaklar Neighborhood of İzmit, stated that they provide feed for their animals by growing barley, wheat and corn in their own gardens, and said, “Thanks to our President Tahir Büyükakın, we receive great support, especially fuel, fertilizer and seeds. We visited the Medical and Aromatic Distillation facilities. A lot of effort has been put in. We had a nice trip in Kartepe with the cable car. Farming is a tiring job, and we could not find time for such trips. It was very good for us. We had the opportunity to rest and have a nice day. I would like to thank those who contributed.”

İzmit Çubuklu Osmaniye Agricultural Development Cooperative President Dürdane Gürkan stated that they were in the cheese business and said, “We received great support from the Metropolitan Municipality, from milk tanks to cheese boats. Our business is going very well. We thank our President Tahir Büyükakın. We saw plants we did not know at the distillation center. I traveled by cable car for the first time. We did not have the opportunity because we lived in a village. Everything was great.”

Dane-Riz Women's Enterprise and Production Business Cooperative President Serap Aslan also said that they produced seedlings from heirloom seeds. Stating that they had the opportunity to visit the distillation facilities of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Aslan said, “We saw that medicinal aromatic plants were distilled with water vapor and turned into essential oils in the facility. I congratulate the Metropolitan Municipality for growing high value-added products. It added great value to our city. We also use these products at home with peace of mind. The cable car trip was also magnificent. I would like to thank our President Tahir Büyükakın for providing us with these opportunities.”

Dr. Sumru Müstecaplıoğlu Halıdere Women's Initiative Cooperative President Meral Deniz stated that they are engaged in beekeeping and that they have acquired all the equipment for beekeeping with the support of the Metropolitan Municipality. Deniz, who stated that she felt admiration and pride while visiting the distillation center, said, “Thanks to this great project, aromatic plants are now transformed into preservatives used in many products and products with high added value are obtained. Again, the cable car project is such a serious service. They always thought Kocaeli was an industrial city. “IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I WENT TO KARTEPE”
Saynur Gülşen, who is a farmer and grows rosemary in Kandıra, said, “The rosemary we grow in our field is processed in the distillation facility. We came and toured and learned how the processes are. The agricultural supports provided by the Metropolitan Municipality are important to us. I have been a daughter-in-law of Kandıra for 45 years. I have traveled all over Turkey but this is my first time going up to Kartepe. Thanks to the cable car tour, I had the opportunity to see the natural beauties of the district. I would like to thank our President Tahir Büyükakın.” Aysun Tuncer, who is a farmer with her husband in Kandıra, expressed her satisfaction with the tour programs and said, “We visited the distillation facility, it was very nice. I bought all the medical and aromatic products. My wife is an agricultural engineer, I will introduce the products to her as well. They are all very nice. I had previously taken the cable car in another province. This is my first time coming to Kartepe, and this place is also very nice. I would like to thank our President Tahir Büyükakın very much. I wish him continued success.”

Kocaeli Women's Hand Cooperative President Ayşe Sezgin stated that they witnessed very beautiful events during the trip and noted the following; “They are doing incredibly beautiful activities at the distillation center. I felt very proud. I witnessed the most beautiful information of my life today. We witnessed the importance of aromatic plants in our lives and the added value they will add to our country. I am incredibly happy. The work done by President Tahir Büyükakın is truly admirable. Our cable car experience was also very nice. I thank you.” Farmer Şebnem Batmanlar said that they both learned valuable information during the trips and had a nice day and relieved their tiredness. Batmanlar stated that they watched the unique beauties of Kartepe from a bird's eye view with the cable car experience and thanked those who contributed.
