US Secretary of State Blinken Visited Turkey

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

At the meeting, bilateral relations between Türkiye and the United States, recent developments in Syria, and global and regional issues were discussed.

President Erdoğan stated that Turkey's efforts to develop Türkiye-US relations in every field will continue in the new period.

President Erdoğan stated that Turkey has been in favor of preserving Syria's territorial integrity, unity and unitary structure from the very beginning, and that the international community must work together to revive and reconstruct institutions in Syria.

President Erdoğan said that Turkey will take preventive measures primarily for its own national security against all terrorist organizations, especially the PKK/PYD/YPG and ISIS terrorist organizations, which are active in Syria and pose a threat to Turkey, and that as the only NATO country that has fought hand-to-hand with ISIS, it will prevent the PKK and its extensions from trying to turn the situation on the ground into an opportunity, and will never allow any weakness to arise in the fight against ISIS.

President Erdoğan was accompanied at the reception by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç and Chief of Private Office of the President Hasan Doğan.
