"Son"

Cankaya Stage, Friday, December 6th at 20:00 Florian Zeller is taking the stage with his award-winning play “Son”. Translated by Ayberk Erkay and directed by Mehmet Atay, the play deeply examines the conflicts between an individual in adolescence and his family and his inner journey. This play takes the audience on a deep intellectual journey while also revealing the difficulties of adolescence.

The play is staged under the consultancy of expert Clinical Psychologist Tuba Ertunç and the leading cast includes talented actors such as Ozan Altuntaş and Çağrıl Atay.

"Baba"

Cankaya Stage, Friday, December 7th at 20:00 Florian Zeller He will be performing his play “Father.” This impressive work presents a story that questions the role of forgetting and memories in human psychology. Zeller brings a deep perspective to issues such as dementia and Alzheimer’s, while encouraging viewers to think about ways to cope with traumatic memories. Directed by Mehmet Atay, this play offers a spiritual journey.

Bursa State Theatre, between December 3-7 Tennessee Williams meets Ankara audiences with his masterpiece “Sırça Kümes”. Directed by Şahin Ergüney, this play strikingly addresses a family’s struggle to survive during the Great Depression. Talented names such as Hatice Sezer and Ufuk Şener take the lead roles. This play offers a thought-provoking experience on universal traumas and internal conflicts.

Picnic on the Front

Ankara State Theatre, between December 3-7 Fernando Arrabal will stage “Picnic at the Front”, one of the classics of absurd theatre. This play questions the meaning of war and offers the audience a deep intellectual journey. The play tells the story of Zapo, who is lonely in the middle of an uncertain war, in an ironic language. Questioning the concepts of peace and war, this work makes the audience think about the meaninglessness of war.

Concerts

Presidential Symphony Orchestra Concerts

On December 6, 2024 Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO), meets with its audience at 20:00 in CSO Ada Ankara Ziraat Bankası Main Hall. Famous songs will be performed in this special event. Conductor Cemi'i Can Deliorman The concert will be held under the management of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No.1 and The Merruh War's work titled "Sinan's Shadow" will meet the audience with its world premiere.

State Polyphonic Choir Concerts

On Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 18:00 State Polyphonic Choir, will take the stage with a huge choir of 400 people coming from different provinces of Turkey. Sections from Mozart's Requiem and Puccini's The moving Requiem will be performed. This performance will showcase the universal power and unifying effect of choral music.

Opera and Ballet

Nutcracker

Ankara State Opera and Ballet, on Wednesday, December 4th and Monday, December 9th Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker will be staged. This work combines a fairytale story with enchanting music and dances.
