DUY Reporting Line Took Action on 2.394 Contents

The Child-Friendly Applications (DUY) website and reporting line, which was launched by the Ministry of Family and Social Services to support the healthy development of children and young people and protect them from harmful content, have so far taken action against 2 content.

The Ministry carries out important work to protect children from all kinds of dangers and harmful content within the scope of protective and preventive services. In this context, it has created the Child-Friendly Applications (DUY) website and reporting line to protect children from harmful content regarding protective and preventive services, to inform parents and society, and to enable citizens to easily report content, publications and applications that they consider harmful to children.

The website provides access to guides, content/publications for children and families. The site includes the Guide to Recommendations for Families in Choosing Books and Toys for Children, the Guide to Privacy Awareness in Children, and the Guide to Foster Families, all created by the General Directorate of Child Services.

In addition, reports received via WhatsApp and Bip to the "0530 918 11 17" reporting line, which can be reached through the "DUY" website (duy.aile.gov.tr) and the General Directorate of Child Services website, are evaluated 7 hours a day, 24 days a week.

All content reported in this way is meticulously examined by the teams and forwarded to the relevant units to initiate the necessary processes.

The hotline receives the most applications regarding cyberbullying, peer bullying, digital addiction and violence against children.

Cooperation is made with BTK, RTÜK and General Directorate of Security in process management.

In the process management, cooperation is also carried out with the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK), Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), and the General Directorate of Security's Cyber ​​Crimes Combat Department.

If there is a need for identification and address determination regarding content that is considered to negatively affect the psychosocial development of the child, process management is carried out with the General Directorate of Security.

Studies are carried out with RTÜK, another stakeholder institution, on content that is considered to negatively affect children socially, emotionally and psychologically in TV series/movies broadcasted.

In addition, a Social Investigation Report is requested from the Provincial Directorates of Family and Social Services in order to examine the living conditions of children who are identified as being exposed to risk in content published on the internet. Then, in line with the principle of best interests, an appropriate social service model for the child is planned and implemented.

Within the scope of the activities carried out within this framework, actions have been taken on 2 contents to date and the contents in question have been forwarded to the relevant institutions in order to initiate the necessary processes.
