Excitement for the First Wind Energy Project in Public Transportation in Kayseri

In Kayseri, the excitement of Turkey's First RES Project in Public Transportation, which will eliminate the energy problem of the Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Inc. and make gains, is being experienced.

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç examined the turbine blades of the wind power plant (RES) project, which will generate 60 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually and is the first in Turkey's public transportation sector, reaching the city. Mayor Büyükkılıç said, "Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality has always been a pioneer, there is no other municipality that has implemented such a project. This suits us."

The 80-vehicle shipment consisting of giant turbine parts for Turkey's first Wind Power Plant in the public transportation sector is on its way from Izmir Alsancak Port to Kayseri, and the turbine parts are gradually arriving in the city. Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç examined the blades of the turbines transported by trucks in the İncesu Fırınönü location where the project is carried out.

During the inspection, Chairman Büyükkılıç was accompanied by Secretary General Hüseyin Beyhan, Deputy Secretary Generals Mücahid Soyak and Ufuk Sekmen, Transportation Inc. General Manager Mehmet Canbulut, and contractor company officials.

Büyükkılıç, who examined the parts on site and wished the personnel ease in their work, stated in his statement here that 3 turbines and 9 blades were gradually brought to Kayseri, and said, “Thank God, we are having a beautiful day, we are smiling, we are approaching the end. The turbines and blades of our work on wind energy have started to arrive. Hopefully, our 3 turbines and 9 blades will arrive soon, and after the 1,5-month installation period, we will start to benefit from wind energy.”

“Platform Prepared, Roads Tested, Necessary Infrastructure Created”

Underlining that they will provide the best service to Kayseri, President Büyükkılıç continued his words as follows: “21 megawatts, new generation, product of a company that has proven itself in the world, its platform was prepared beforehand, roads were tested, necessary infrastructure was created. Approximately 6 kilometers of energy transmission line was connected to the reducer in our organized industry. The next process is the assembly process of the incoming wings and turbines. We see devoted work here, the project befitting our city will solve the energy problem of our Transportation Inc. in order to provide the best of services and will also gain. I congratulate the team, the company, and these beautiful brothers of ours separately.”

Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç emphasized that 3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity will be obtained annually from the 60 turbines and that the project will operate 24 hours a day, and said, “Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality has always been a pioneer, there is no other municipality that has implemented such a project. This suits us, I also congratulate the Transportation Inc. team with Kayseri intelligence, Kayseri understanding.”

It Will Be Equivalent to a 65-Storey Building

When the giant pieces, the largest of which is 81,5 meters long and the heaviest weighing 155 tons, are assembled, they will reach a peak height of 194,5 meters. This height will be approximately equivalent to a 65-story building.

The project, which is being carried out in accordance with the circular published by the Presidency regarding the use of public resources on the basis of savings and efficiency, will have the distinction of being the first RES in Turkey's public transportation sector.
