Live Piano Recital for Nostalgic Tram Passengers in Antalya

The 24th International Antalya Piano Festival, organized by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, began with a unique event that brought art to the city. As part of the festival, a grand piano placed on the city's nostalgic tram offered passengers an unforgettable musical experience. The live performances of İsmail Baha Sürelsan Conservatory students gave tram passengers both a nostalgic and modern touch.

A Journey Full of Art

The piano placed in the first carriage of the nostalgic tram serving on Antalya's Varyant, Konyaaltı Street, Kaleiçi, Işıklar and Zerdalilik routes has made art a part of urban transportation. The unique pieces played by conservatory students gave the tram passengers a concert experience. While some passengers initially thought they were listening to a recording, they could not hide their surprise when they realized the live performance.

One passenger, Nevzat Sağlam, described the experience with these words:
“I didn’t expect it at all, it was a surprise for me. I really enjoyed it in terms of art and music. It’s also a nice experience.”

Inspiring Performances from Young Talents

The young talents of the İsmail Baha Sürelsan Conservatory played the piano on the tram as part of the festival. These students impressed everyone on the journey by displaying both the cultural richness of Antalya and their own talents.

16-year-old Sündüz Su Efe expressed this experience as follows:
“I have been playing the piano for 5 years. I was very happy that we were included in the Young Talents program. It is a separate happiness that the passengers appreciate us.”

Another student, Liva Kelleci, expressed her passion for the piano with these words:
“I started playing the piano when I was 8 years old. I feel very happy now. I have performed in such places before, but playing on a tram was a completely different experience.”

Integration of Art into City Life
