Kocaeli Kastamonulular Association became the champion by defeating Kocaeli Artvin Batumi Region Associations Federation on penalties in the final match of Hemşeri Cup 24.
The 28nd Football Tournament Between Fellow Countrymen Associations “Fellow Countrymen Cup 2”, organized by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and attended by associations from 24 provinces, ended with the final match played at İzmit East Barracks Facilities. The final match, which pitted the teams of Kocaeli Artvin and Kastamonu Associations against each other, was full of excitement. The champion was determined by penalty kicks in the final match, the regular time of which ended 1-1. Kocaeli Kastamonu Culture and Solidarity Association, which prevailed over Kocaeli Artvin Batumi Region Associations Federation in the series of penalty kicks, became the champion of the Fellow Countrymen Cup 24.
HIGH INTEREST FROM PORTOTOL AND CITIZENS
The final competition, where horon dances and halay dances were performed in a spirit of brotherhood, showed great interest from both the protocol and the citizens. The final match, which was played with a blaze of fire, provided enjoyable moments for the audience. The champion was determined by penalty kicks in the final match, which ended with a score of 1-1 in the regular time. Kocaeli Kastamonu Culture and Solidarity Association, which prevailed over its opponent Kocaeli Artvin Batumi Region Associations Federation in the penalties, became the champion.
CHAMPIONS OF KASTAMONU
At the cup ceremony accompanied by fun and lively music, former State Minister Murat Başesgioğlu presented the championship cup to the Kocaeli Kastamonu Culture and Solidarity Association. Speaking at the cup ceremony, Başesgioğlu said, “I was happy to participate in such a beautiful organization where our Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality brought together our fellow countrymen associations and citizens. I congratulate all the teams that participated in the tournament and were successful in it.” Governor Aktaş and Mayor Büyükakın also attended the cup ceremony and congratulated the teams. At the end of the cup ceremony, the champion team and its supporters played local games accompanied by music. Last year’s champion Kocaeli Artvin Batumi Area Associations Federation finished this year’s tournament in second place, while Kocaeli Erzurumlular Culture Solidarity and Solidarity Association defeated Kocaeli Çankırılılar Education Culture Aid and Solidarity Association and came in third.
