Izmir City Theatres Started Working on a New Play

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres has started rehearsals for the play "Very Strange Investigation" which will be staged for theatre lovers.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality City Theaters (IzBBŞT), which opened the 2024-2025 theater season with the play “The Tuhaf Hikayesi of Rüstemoğlu Cemal” under the general artistic direction of Levent Üzümcü, is preparing to add a new play to its repertoire. Rehearsals have begun at Izmir City Theaters for the play “Çok Tuhaf Soruşturma”, written by master writer and theater actor Ferhan Şensoy, to meet the Izmir audience.

The play, which examines the perversions of the justice system and human rights in the country within the framework of the events experienced by three friends who are wrongly imprisoned, will be directed by İzBBŞT Deputy General Artistic Director Harun Özer. The cast of “Çok Tuhaf Araşturma” includes Ayhan Anıl, Ozan Çolak, Okan Kam, Bahadır Buyruk, Mustafa Can Yılmaz and Candaş Yılancı, and the stage design belongs to Anıl Işık and the costume design is Deniz Bilgili. The play is planned to meet the audience during the season.

December schedule has been announced!

İzBBŞT, which continues to work on new plays without slowing down, has announced its December program. Accordingly, “The Passenger” written by Nazım Hikmet and directed by Orhan Alkaya will meet theatergoers on December 1-12-13-14, “Helikopter” written by Tuncer Cücenoğlu and directed by Bahadır Buyruk will meet theatergoers on December 5-6-7, and “Mor Şalvar” written by Ferhat Lüleci and directed by Ufuk Aşar will meet theatergoers on December 19-20-21. All adult plays can be watched at İzBBŞT İsmet İnönü Stage.

For the younger audience, “Robinson Learns to Dance” will be performed on December 1-8, and “School for Clowns” will be performed on December 15 at the Izmir Art Stage.
