The New Year Festival, organized for the first time in the city by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, started with colorful scenes at the Kültürpark. The festival, which includes shopping and food stands as well as children's playgrounds and an artificial ice rink, will host many events from concerts to dance shows and stage shows. The colorful and enthusiastic festival prepared for the people of Izmir will continue until December 31.

The festival, which will bring together the people of Izmir at Kültürpark with the number of days left until 2025, was opened by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Dr. Zafer Levent Yıldır together with the citizens. The opening ceremony, which started with a procession accompanied by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Band, continued with concerts and shows. Within the scope of the festival, 40 international companies, as well as manufacturers, operators and tradesmen, opened stands.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Dr. Zafer Levent Yıldır said, “We want to be at Kültürpark with all the people of İzmir. We are here today, we are together and we want to feel that we are in solidarity. Let’s embrace our common values. Let’s confirm our commitment once again. We wanted to enter the new year with a new spirit. We are here to disperse the dark clouds. We will do our best. İzmir will continue its life as a happy city. As a municipality, we will strive to do better every day in order to serve the people of this city better. No one should worry about this. We are waiting for everyone at the festival.”
The festival created great happiness in Izmir residents
The New Year Festival created excitement among the companies participating in the festival and the people of Izmir who visited the festival area. Muammer Çakır, who attended the festival with his family, said, “It was very nice. Our children are having fun, the Metropolitan Municipality provided all kinds of opportunities. Thank you. May the new year bring good luck to everyone.” Ceyhan Gülten said, “It is a very fun, bright environment. Everything that is necessary for the people of Izmir to have a good time while preparing for the new year has been done. These are the beauties of living in Izmir. Toy manufacturer Senem Şenyuva Başdönmez, who set up a stand at the festival, emphasized that the country was going through very difficult times and said, “We all needed such a festival very much. The first day of the festival was full of colorful moments. The Turgut Pura Foundation Ceramics Workshop was set up in the Pakistan Pavilion. The Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Pop Orchestra and the Harmony Band gave a concert. Izmir residents also had fun with the Adasu Akın Cello concert, Anıl Gale DJ performance, Grup 1 chamber concert, DJ percussion performance, Flow Chill Circus Arts Show and Flow Jam Fire Night Show.
