IMM Provides Treatment and Vaccinations for Stray Animals with VetBus

Since 2022, IMM has been meeting the vaccination and treatment needs of stray animals in the work areas with the VetBus vehicle. In the first 2024 months of 11, 298 examinations and treatments, 7 vaccinations and 366 microchip applications were carried out by the IMM Veterinary Services Branch Directorate. In the December VetBus program, services were provided in Çekmeköy and Ataşehir districts last week, and this week, services will be provided in Pendik district and next week in Tuzla, Maltepe and Kartal districts.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Veterinary Services Branch Directorate has added a 2nd VetBüs vehicle to its organization. While 2022 examinations and treatments, 221 vaccinations, 2 microchips and 144 adoptions were carried out for stray animals within the scope of VetBüs work in 176, 9 examinations and treatments, 2023 vaccinations and 217 microchip applications were carried out in 3. In the first 651 months of 97, services were provided with 2024 examinations and treatments, 11 vaccinations and 298 microchip applications.

Purpose of the Project;

· Effective promotion of IMM services, which play an important role in combating contagious and epidemic diseases through stray animal rehabilitation services,

· Meeting the vaccination and treatment needs of stray animals in the work areas by bringing VetBus to the places where they live by our sensitive citizens,

· Encouraging the adoption of stray animals,

Preventing uncontrolled animal movements by confirming stray animals in the work areas via microchip numbers.
