Following the Nevbe ceremony, the “Gulbang Prayer” was recited at the head of Hz. Mevlana’s sarcophagus.

THE OPENING OF 2 EXHIBITIONS ORGANIZED BY KONYA METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY WAS HELD

In the evening part of the ceremonies, the first sema program was performed at the Metropolitan Municipality Mevlana Culture Center. Before the program, the exhibitions titled “Music in the Capital Konya in the Age of Mevlana” and “Wisdom Reflected in the Mesnevi” organized by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality were opened.

Making the opening speech of the program, the General Director of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ömer Faruk Belviranlı, said that they are experiencing indescribable happiness and pride in taking on the sacred legacy of Hazrat Mevlana.

“TODAY, WHEN WE LOOK AT THOSE WHO OPPRESS INNOCENT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD, WE FEEL THEIR LOVELESSNESS IN THE DEEPEST WAY”

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay started his speech by saying that on these days when a spiritual atmosphere is experienced every year, all the streets of Konya are lost in a harmonious sea of love, tongues speak with love and hearts beat with affection.

President Altay, who said, “We can face the tests we face as humanity with love, affection, unity and brotherhood. Affection that lacks this meaning as its basis ends in disaster,” emphasized that when we look at the massacres Israel is carrying out in Gaza today and those who oppress innocent people in East Turkestan and around the world, the lovelessness in them is felt most deeply. President Altay said, “We are witnessing that humanity has never been this helpless in the face of oppression throughout history. In the presence of you, our valuable guests; I would like to express once again our wish that those who kill innocent children and mothers receive the punishment they deserve and that peace prevails in the world as soon as possible. The days when light will rise after darkness in Gaza and in oppressed geographies are near. May God grant the entire world to experience those beautiful days, God willing. I remember Hazrat Mevlana once again with mercy and prayers in the 751st year of reunion.”

“BRIDGES WILL BE BUILT THAT CROSS BORDERS BETWEEN HEARTS”

Konya Governor İbrahim Akın also stated that they came together to heed the universal call of the Turkish-Islamic thinker Mevlana and made the following assessments:

“As every year, Konya is bringing Şeb-i Arus events to life with a beautiful organization this year. Within this scope, with the events that will continue day and night for 10 days, bridges that transcend borders will be built between hearts, as in Mevlana’s words, ‘with love, pain becomes honey, troubles are healed’. While we are passing on Mevlana’s philosophy to future generations, we have to not only protect our cultural heritage but also keep it alive. Because there is hope in that heritage, there is the well-being that humanity needs. I pray to God that we renew the love we feel for each other and all beings through Şebiarus.”

SEMA CONVENTION WAS EXECUTED

The program continued with Prof. Dr. Mahmut Erol Kılıç's Masnavi lesson and Quran recitation, followed by a Sufi music concert by artist Ahmet Özhan. Then, the "Mevlevi Ceremony Serif" was performed by the Konya Turkish Sufi Music Group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
