Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu attended the AK Party Hakkari 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress. Emphasizing that they invested 46 billion liras in Hakkari as a ministry in his speech here, Uraloğlu said, “Hakkari had only 1 kilometer of divided roads. We increased it to over 100 kilometers. Again, there was no hot asphalt at all, today we increased it to over 170 kilometers. We know what Hakkari needs and we strive with this motivation.”

The 40-Minute Road Was Reduced to 5 Minutes with Güzeldere Pass

Minister Uraloğlu, who emphasized that they made an effort knowing what Hakkari needed, said, “The Güzeldere Pass on the road connecting Hakkari to Van, the famous 32 bends, was a very, very difficult tunnel. But thank God, we finished one of those tunnels and put it into service. We reduced the traffic that took about 40 minutes, an hour in winter conditions, to only 5 minutes.”

“There are flights to Yüksekova Selahattin Eyyubi Airport every day of the week”

Reminding that they opened Hakkari Yüksekova Selahattin Eyyubi Airport in 2015 under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister Uraloğlu said, “Thank God, there are flights every day of the week.”

Speaking about the tunnel on the Yeniköprü-Yüksekova line, Uraloğlu said, “We came through our 3-meter tunnel. It has minor deficiencies. We are trying to complete it by the end of the year. God willing, we will finish it and come to Hakkari together and open it for service. It is a 965-meter tunnel. A person can walk there in about an hour. Now you are passing through it. We are doing a spotless job with all kinds of lighting, signs and traffic safety measures.”

Minister Uraloğlu, who made statements about the general election and local election processes, said, “Thank God, we won many of our municipalities, district and town municipalities in the local elections. We also lost our provincial municipality by a very small margin. These congresses are the congresses where our unity is strengthened and our brotherhood increases. With the energy we will receive from here, we will give stronger support to our AK Party in the upcoming first elections. I wholeheartedly believe in this.”
