Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality has signed another environmentally friendly project with its renewable and clean energy projects. The Solar Power Plant with 600 kilowatts of installed power and 1140 solar panels, the installation works of which were completed in the Ildem Tram Park Area, was put into operation and started charging electric buses.
Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, who produces projects by working towards the efficient use of energy resources with an understanding that protects the environment in Kayseri, said, “Following our initiatives for the Wind Power Plant project to be used in transportation, this time we are also evaluating another renewable and environmentally friendly energy, solar energy, and turning it into service.”

Mayor Büyükkılıç stated that the Solar Power Plant with 1 kilowatts of installed power and 600 solar panels in İldem Tram Park Field, which will produce 1140 million kilowatt-hours of energy annually to meet the charging needs of the electric buses in the fleet of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Inc., was put into operation and said, “With our effective, enterprising and energetic municipality, our electricity is diversifying and increasing. We get power from the sun and wind, produce our electricity and use it in our transportation area. Just as Kayseri transforms the profit of Erciyes into profit, it also transforms the heat of the sun and the flow of the wind into profit and service.”
Mayor Büyükkılıç Announced That the Second Project in GES Will Be Completed Soon
Büyükkılıç, who announced that another Solar Power Plant under construction on the roof of the Organized Rail System Warehouse and Operation Center is planned to be completed in the coming weeks, reported that this project, which has an installed power of 1200 kilowatts and 2 solar panels, has the capacity to produce 132 million kilowatt-hours of energy per year. Büyükkılıç said, “When both projects are completed, Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality will reach a total installed power of approximately 2 megawatts and an annual energy production capacity of 2 million kilowatt-hours.”
