Ankara Offers Training Opportunities to 264 Football Teams

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues to provide support to amateur football clubs and young athletes with its 33 indoor football pitches. While 264 football teams and approximately 350 licensed athletes in each team have the opportunity to train on the fields of the Metropolitan Municipality, this support will grow even more with the 5 competition pitches that will be put into service in the coming days.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to increase its contribution to sports and support young talents.

33 artificial turf pitches affiliated with the Youth and Sports Services Department were made available for use by both amateur football clubs and football-loving citizens.

MORE SUPPORT FOR FOOTBALL IS ON THE WAY

The fields, which host a total of 264 football teams and approximately 350 licensed athletes from different age categories of each team, offer a great opportunity for amateur clubs that have difficulty training. Football enthusiasts from the capital can also benefit from the fields whenever they want.

In addition to the existing artificial turf pitches, the Metropolitan Municipality is preparing to open 5 new competition pitches in the coming days. The new pitches will allow amateur footballers to train under better conditions while also aiming to increase interest in the sport.

FOOTBALL FANS FROM THE CAPITAL CAN ALSO BENEFIT

Youth Services Branch Manager Erdal Demir, emphasizing the importance that the Metropolitan Municipality attaches to the popularization of sports, said, “We have opened the artificial turf fields affiliated with our department to the service of athletes and amateur clubs. While providing opportunities for amateur sports clubs to train in cooperation with the Ankara Amateur Sports Clubs Federation, we also ensure that football-loving citizens can benefit from these fields. We also carry out free sports activities for children on these fields.”

KANDAZOĞLU: “INTEREST IN SPORTS WILL INCREASE”

Ankara Amateur Sports Clubs Federation President Murat Kandazoğlu drew attention to the importance of the support provided by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality for sports and said, “I would like to thank Mansur Yavaş. When we visited our mayor, we mentioned the lack of sports facilities in Ankara and stated that local governments should contribute to this issue. As of that day, we started this cooperation with a protocol. We need to keep in mind that sports clubs are places of education. We are trying to contact the schools in the neighborhood and direct them to sports facilities. We are trying to attract children to sports facilities and make them love sports without leaving children wandering on the streets. As long as we work in a coordinated manner, interest in sports will increase and we will get good results. I think it is meaningful for a mayor to give this much importance to sports.”
