Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu attended the AK Party Çankaya 8th Ordinary District Congress. In his speech here, Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that they regained excitement at the AK Party congresses and said, “Our congresses are our meetings where we gain momentum and strength to continue on our path faster.” Minister Uraloğlu stated that he attended the Trabzon Of District Congress yesterday morning and then the Hakkari Provincial Congress and said, “We brought greetings from there to Hakkari and from Hakkari to Ankara Çankaya. There was a beautiful congress there and there is a beautiful congress atmosphere here.”
Minister Uraloğlu, who also provided information about the activities of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, said, “We have been serving our country in the field of transport under the leadership of our President for 22 years. Look, we built the Eurasia Tunnel under the sea; we built the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge over the sea, we built the Osmangazi Bridge. We built the Marmaray, which was said to be impossible. We were also lucky enough to finish the Bolu Mountain Tunnel, which was said to be ‘should we build a potato warehouse?’ This is a matter of luck…” Uraloğlu, who also stated that they connected Ankara to Niğde with a highway, added that they connected it to Şanlıurfa with the highway and completed the divided road.
Ankara-Izmir High-Speed Train Travel Will Take 3,5 Hours
Minister Uraloğlu, who also made a statement about the railway, said that they connected Ankara to Sivas and said, “We connected it to Istanbul, Konya and Karaman. So what’s next? Now it’s Izmir’s turn. We will reduce it to just 3 and a half hours. We have another high-speed train project that will go from Kırıkkale to Samsun -to the sea. We continue to do these, my dear brothers.”
Regarding the urban rail systems, he reminded that they had completed the Kızılay-Çayyolu Metro, Batıkent-Sincan Metro, Tandoğan-Keçiören and AKM-Gar-Kızılay Metro and put them into service.
Minister Uraloğlu asked those who said, “Traffic cannot be solved by building roads, people cannot be transported by building subways,” what will be done to solve the traffic and said, “We will have to close the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. Why? What will we do to solve this traffic? Did you build a bicycle path and solve the traffic? Did you pedestrianize and solve the traffic? Did you build a 6-centimeter subway in 6 years? How will we solve this traffic? If we solve it without building roads, then our Ministry will have nothing much to do. Then let us leave our job and relax. We cannot go anywhere with such a logic.”
