A serious collapse occurred at the Afşin Thermal Power Plant, owned by Çelikler Holding in the Afşin district of Kahramanmaraş. According to initial findings, it was learned that no workers were trapped under the collapse. However, the details and possible consequences of this incident are a matter of curiosity.

This collapse, which occurred at the Çelikler Holding Afşin Elbistan Lignite Operations Directorate, which supplies coal to the Afşin Elbistan A Thermal Power Plant operating under Çelikler Holding and the publicly operated Afşin Elbistan B Thermal Power Plant, creates a worrying situation in terms of occupational safety.

In the investigations carried out after the incident, it was determined that only construction equipment and some tools remained under the collapse. Authorities evaluated that the collapse was caused by cracks that started yesterday and are growing today.
