Off-road show and rafting activities were held on the last day of the "Photosafari and Nature Sports Festival", which was held for the fifth time this year in Çukurca district of Hakkari.
The festival, organized by Çukurca District Governorate and Çukurca Municipality under the auspices of the Governorship and supported by the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Culture and Tourism and Youth and Sports, continues.
On the last day of the festival held in the district on the Iraqi border, off-road vehicles demonstrated on the track created on the Bayrak Tepe road, and rafting excitement was experienced in Zap Suyu.
At the festival, where citizens participated in the archery activity in the Çınaraltı area, photographers photographed the daily life, historical mills, castle houses and cultural values of the region.
District Governor Mert Kumcu said that colorful events were held on the last day of the festival.
Stating that citizens are interested in nature sports, Kumcu said:
“We are now on the edge of the Zap River. This is a very important place. Whatever Fırtına Creek is in Rize, Zap Stream is what Manavgat is. We are determined to make this the center of rafting sports. Our athletes continue their shows to promote the region. We think that the participants were satisfied with the festival. We had events worth seeing. Thanks to the Claw-Lock Operations, our Çukurca, our region and our country have found peace. We are doing our best to promote the district. Çukurca is a place of natural wonder. The address for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. We held very important events. I would like to thank everyone who contributed."
Explaining that all employees worked diligently throughout the festival, Kumcu said, “Our citizens hosted guests from outside the province in their homes because there was a shortage of accommodation. This enabled cultural fusion. It also contributed economically. We are determined to promote Çukurca and its peaceful environment.” said.
Rafting athlete Ramazan İlhan also stated that the festival was very entertaining and stated that such events should be increased.
Stating that Zap Suyu has one of the best rafting courses in the world, İlhan said, “This place is no different from other places. People who come here see the beauty of the region and the friendliness of the people. We invite everyone here. Rafting in Zap is exciting. “Water and flow are very good.” he said.
