26,5 Percent Increase in Turkey's Cat-Dog Food Exports

Turkey's cat-dog food exports increased by 26,5 percent in the first half of the year, from 57,7 million dollars to 73 million dollars. The number of countries to which Turkey exports cat and dog food is 91.

Muhammet Öztürk, President of the Aegean Grains, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters' Association, stated that they left 2023 behind in the cat and dog food industry with an export figure of 122 million dollars, and stated that they have made a successful entry into the second century of the Republic.

Öztürk, who informed that people's pet ownership has increased in recent years, said, “With the pandemic, pet adoption has accelerated even more. The cat-dog food industry has made great progress both in the domestic market and in exports. New investments are coming to the cat and dog food industry. It seems that the sector will leave 2024 behind with exports of 150 million dollars. “We predict that the exports of the sector will reach 5 million dollars in the next 500 years.” he said.

Stating that the cat-dog food industry is clustered in the Aegean Region and dominates Turkey's exports in this sector, Öztürk continued as follows:

“While cat and dog food producers and exporters who are members of our Aegean Grains, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters Association exported food worth 2023 million dollars in the first half of 35, they exported 2024 million 45 thousand dollars in the January-June period of 50. “62 percent of cat-dog food exports were carried out by EHBYMIB members.”

While the number of countries to which cat and dog food was exported from Turkey in the first half of the year was 91, Malaysia maintained its leadership. Cat and dog food exports to Malaysia, which were 2023 billion dollars in the January-June period of 8, increased by 2024 percent to 35 million dollars in the same period of 11.
