The European Deaf Clubs Basketball Championship, organized by the International Deaf Basketball Federation with the support of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, started in Bursa with the participation of a total of 7 teams from 12 countries.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which implements youth-centered projects in Bursa and aims to keep young people engaged in at least one sport, continues to support national and international sports competitions. Eurocup Bursa 2023 European Deaf Club Basketball Championship, organized by the International Deaf Basketball Federation (DIBF) with the contributions of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, started in Bursa with the participation of a total of 12 teams from Germany, Italy, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Greece and Turkey. In the competitions that will be played at Naim Süleymanoğlu Sports Complex and Gürsu Sports Hall between 15-18 November, 7 teams for men and 5 for women will compete. The teams that advance to the next round will play their final matches at Naim Süleymanoğlu Sports Complex on Saturday, November 18.

In the first match of the championship, WKSN SWIT Wroclaw and DSC Sesler Istanbul teams faced each other. In the competitive competition, the athletes reflected all their talents on the field.

International Deaf Basketball Federation Organizing Committee Chairman and Bursa Yıldırım Hearing Impaired Club board member Bülent Dursun said that they applied for the European cup organized by DIBF in 2020, and as a result of the review, Bursa was preferred. Reminding that the organization, which was postponed due to the pandemic, was held this year, Dursun said, “We prepared for the organization in the best way possible. I would like to thank Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, municipalities, public institutions, all our supporters and the people of Bursa for their support. “I wish the athletes success,” he said.
