Siirt Governor Kemal Kızılkaya said that 3 workers lost their lives and 2 workers were injured in the collapse that occurred in the Eti Bakır mine field in Maden village of Şirvan district.
Providing information about the collapse in the Şirvan mine, Siirt Governor Kızılkaya said, “I wish God's mercy on our three miner brothers who died in the collapse in Maden village of Siirt's Şirvan district, and I wish a speedy recovery to our two brothers who survived with minor injuries. “I offer my patience and condolences to the grieving families of our miners and our beloved nation.” He stated:
According to the information received, a collapse occurred in the mine area at night for an undetermined reason. In the collapse, 5 workers were buried under the ground. AFAD, UMKE, gendarmerie and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene.
As a result of the work of the teams, 2 workers who were buried under the ground were rescued. However, it was determined that 3 workers lost their lives. The injured workers were taken to Siirt Training and Research Hospital by ambulance and received treatment.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
