Samsun Caravan Tourism is Growing Rapidly

While the number of tourists coming to Samsun is increasing every year, the steps taken to develop caravan tourism in particular have yielded positive feedback. Local and foreign tourists from 77 cities and 39 countries preferred Samsun for their caravan holiday. Caravan parking areas belonging to Samsun Metropolitan Municipality hosted 3 thousand 16 holidaymakers during the 676-month summer period. Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir stated that the interest in caravan parking areas is increasing every year and said, "With the newly acquired caravan parking areas, Samsun has become the favorite city of caravan holidays."

Interest in caravan tourism continues to increase every year both in the world and in Turkey. Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, which has managed to direct the route of caravan holidaymakers to Samsun with three caravan parks located in Canik, Atakum and Miliç, offers unlimited services to holidaymakers in these areas. All that remains for the guests is to enjoy the holiday, the sea and nature. More and more tourists visit the caravan park area, which offers services such as hot showers, toilets and laundry, every year. In the summer of 2023, 77 thousand 39 people from 16 cities and 676 countries visited the caravan parks of the Metropolitan Municipality. In 3 months, 982 caravans and 3 thousand 603 tents were located in the facilities.

'SAMSUN IS THE FAVORITE CITY OF CARAVAN HOLIDAYS'

Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir stated that Samsun is one of the most important tourism cities in Turkey and said, “Our city has many alternatives in terms of tourism. Our sea, our coast, our green areas, our nature, there are many beautiful spots worth seeing. There is a rising trend in our city in terms of tourism. Our number of visitors is increasing every year. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we continue to take steps to strengthen the tourism infrastructure and increase its diversity in our city. Especially in recent years, interest in caravan tourism has been increasing. With the work we have done, we have increased the number of caravans this year. Being aware of the interest of caravan holidaymakers in our city, we increased the number of caravan parks to 3. After Terme and Canik, we also created a Caravan Park area in Atakum district. "With the newly acquired caravan parking areas, Samsun has become the favorite city of caravan holidays," he said.
