Schools Considered Risky in Kağıthane Are Being Renovated

With the support of Kağıthane Municipality, Istanbul Governorship and philanthropic business people, schools considered risky in Kağıthane are being renovated one by one.

Public buildings, along with the houses in Kağıthane, were included in the scope of urban transformation against a possible Istanbul earthquake. The transformation of Talatpaşa Günebakan Primary School, Osman Tevfik Yalman Secondary School and Çamlıvadi Special Education Practice School, which were identified as risky in Kağıthane, was completed and made earthquake resistant. Transformation works continue rapidly at Seyrantepe Primary and Secondary School. In addition, a brand new school named Çamlıvadi Primary School was added to the district.

Evaluating the structural transformation in education, Kağıthane Mayor Mevlüt Öztekin said, “Before the election, we promised that we would bring new education centers to our district. In addition to adding new schools, we modernized all of our existing schools. Of course, every life is very valuable in an earthquake and we prioritize our children in this regard. Our school projects will continue in the new term. "We have prepared the plans of our schools to be built in Çağlayan, Hamidiye and Gürsel neighborhoods." said.
