DS Automobiles has signed another special partnership for the reopening of Tour d'Argent, one of the most iconic restaurants in Paris. DS Automobiles has produced a specially designed DS 9 for this special opening.
Opened in 1582 in the heart of Paris, the capital of France, and offering a magnificent view of the Seine River and Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, Tour d'Argent, one of the iconic venues of gastronomy, has reopened its doors after the renovation process. Artists, writers and heads of state line up to taste the famous Tour d'Argent duck, which is prepared in front of the guests with the restaurant's famous service ritual and whose recipe was standardized in 1890. The restaurant's legendary cellar, with approximately 300 thousand bottles, is considered one of the most prestigious in the world. This unique experience stands out as a part of French gastronomy history. Tour d'Argent, which was given "Three Stars" by the Michelin Guide for the first time in 1933, started to host its guests again after more than a year of work under the leadership of architect Franklin Azzi. Chef Yannick Franques develops the classic recipes from the Tour d'Argent culinary heritage that have made the restaurant so famous, as well as introducing new recipes.
A unique DS 9 built for the Tour d'Argent
A new apartment on the restaurant's fifth floor, designed in collaboration with the best French craft workshops, encourages guests to share the venue's history of hospitality, quality and friendliness. Inspired by travel pleasure and elegance, the journey to this exclusive guest apartment offers a Parisian lifestyle experience in the DS 9 Opera E-Tense 250, designed with the signature “Tour d'Argent” in Midnight Blue and the restaurant's crest.
DS 9 represents the French art of travel, which spreads all over the world and is the expression of a national experience of the art of living. The cabin epitomizes elegance and comfort with heated, massaged and ventilated Basalt Black Nappa leather seats with “Watchband” upholstery. In the rear seats, the premium armrest and exclusive Lounge headrests developed by DS Automobiles' master craftsmen represent exceptional expertise. Among many other features, comfort reaches unattainable levels with active suspension controlled by a camera that reads the imperfections on the road, side windows with sound and heat insulation, and reinforced insulation thanks to the windshield.
Olivier François, CEO of DS Automobiles, said: “It is a source of pride for DS Automobiles to be associated with the rebirth of the Tour d'Argent, Paris' oldest restaurant, gastronomic icon and hotspot of French expertise. "Together, we contribute to the worldwide impact of the French art of living within the framework of our own fields of activity," he said.
