6 people were detained in an arms smuggling and drug operation in Tarsus district of Mersin.
According to the information obtained, an operation was carried out by Mersin Police Department Tarsus KOM and Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch teams at the address where it was determined that unlicensed weapons were brought upon order, these weapons were sold for money and drug trafficking was carried out.
In the operation carried out at the specified address in Bağlarbaşı District of Tarsus district; 19 unlicensed pistols, 3 unlicensed shotguns, 1 automatic shotgun, 129 7.65 diameter pistol cartridges, 48 9.19 diameter pistol cartridges, 57 shotgun cartridges and a total of 104 items in 15 blisters stashed in the branches of peach trees in the garden of the residence. 456 synthetic drugs labeled (Gerica) were seized.
6 people caught in connection with the incident were brought to the police. It was reported that the individuals will be referred to the courthouse after their procedures.
