The Current Turkish Sign Language (TİD) Dictionary, prepared by the Ministry of Family and Social Services for those who want to learn Turkish sign language, students studying in schools for the hearing impaired, and educators providing Turkish sign language education, has been accessed more than 150 million times from 4,5 countries.
Current Turkish Sign Language Dictionary, which was made available to users by the Ministry at tidsozluk.aile.gov.tr/ in 2017, is based on the Turkish Sign Language corpus obtained from 26 provinces of Turkey and 113 Turkish Sign Language native speakers.
Dictionary contents designed online in a video-based environment are presented in Turkish Sign Language and Turkish. The dictionary's user base includes hearing-impaired students, those who want to learn Turkish sign language, translators, special education teachers and researchers.
Within the framework of the data collected within the scope of the Turkish Sign Language Research Project carried out in 2015, the 2.000 words with the highest frequency of use are: sözcüThe dictionary consists of three different types: sign, meaning and example, and a total of 11.428 videos prepared with different background colors according to their types.
All in the videos sözcüIt is aimed that the transcription and Turkish translation of the words will contribute to the learning of Turkish by the hearing impaired and to the learning of Turkish Sign Language by the hearing people. The dictionary, which also has an English translation, has been accessed more than 2017 million times from 150 countries since 4,5.
The user can choose the sign he wants to learn in Turkish. sözcüIt can be found by signs or visual features of the sign. It is aimed to provide convenience to Turkish Sign Language students with the option of playing the videos at different speeds. With the help of sample videos, the user can sözcüHe/she learns about the usage of the word in the sentence.
