While the excitement of the 2024rd International Kayseri Half Marathon was experienced in Kayseri, which was selected as the European Sports City of 7 with the initiatives of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, with participation from 70 to 3, the half marathon witnessed colorful images.
Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç's “150. 150 foreign athletes and 18 elite athletes from 210 countries participated in the Mimar Sinan-themed Kayseri Half Marathon, which is within the scope of "40 Projects a Year".
In addition to Turkey, 18 foreigners from 210 countries from Belarus, Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Germany, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Syria, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Zimbabwe participated in the International Half Marathon. More than 40 athletes, including athletes, 21 elite athletes, 10K, 7K and Public Race participated.
They participated in the half marathon with baby strollers
Organized with the slogan 'More than a Marathon', the International Kayseri Half Marathon was run in three categories: 21K, 10K and public run. In the half marathon, athletes sweated on the Cumhuriyet Square, Sivas Street, Yıldızevler and Anatolian Wonderland route. Mothers and fathers participated with their baby strollers and their children in the marathon, which featured colorful images.
Firsts left their mark
While Mayor Büyükkılıç shared the good news that Kayseri was given the '2024 Sports City' Title, a first was achieved by breaking the track record of 21 in both men's and women's categories in the 2022K General Classification.

A trip was organized to Mimar Sinan's house
In the Half Marathon, both citizens exercised and the ancient city was promoted internationally. In this context, nearly 50 running groups from all over Turkey such as Istanbul, Mersin, Adana and Kocaeli participated. A promotional tour was organized for the running groups to the house where Mimar Sinan was born.
In addition, Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Alo 153 Communication Center and White Desk units took their place at the International Kayseri Half Marathon and listened to the demands and suggestions of sports fans at the established stand.
Büyükşehir Belediyesi Spor A.Ş. will start preparations for the 4th International Kayseri Half Marathon without wasting any time.
