Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO General Directorate celebrated the "European Mobility Week", which raises awareness about sustainable urban mobility and is held every year between 16-22 September, with events.
The week started with the Car-Free City Day events held by closing Bahçelievler 7th Avenue to traffic and continued with the visit of Ahmet Haşim Primary School students to Macunköy Metro Operation and Maintenance Center.
EGO Service Improvement and Institutional Development Department Head Ayten Gök said the following about the "Discover Public Transportation" event and the students' visit to Macunköy Metro Operation and Maintenance Center:
“As Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO General Directorate, which adopts an environmentally friendly and people-oriented public transportation, we are organizing various events related to the theme determined within the scope of this week. Our program today is with the students of Ahmet Haşim Primary School. Our dear students visited us today. They received information about how the metro operation works in Ankara from public transportation vehicles. “They came to our control center and visited our workshops.”
Roman Theatre, Archeopark and Ankara Castle welcomed their visitors
With the "Discover Your City" event, a special tour program was organized for citizens in cooperation with the Department of Cultural and Natural Heritage and EGO General Directorate. Visitors who participated in the tour program organized to the Roman Theatre, Archeopark and Ankara Castle, which are the historical heritage of the capital, had the opportunity to rediscover the history of the capital.
Visitors from various regions of Ankara showed great interest in the tour, which was accompanied by EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş and Head of Service Improvement and Institutional Development Department Ayten Gök.
Citizens who visited the area accompanied by expert guides expressed their observations with the following words:
Mustafa Köksaldı: “It's a really nice environment. As a native of Ankara, I was very happy. The discovery of the bath, Roman theater and stones shows that it will be more beautiful. The history of our Ankara is buried underground. “This is a nice service.”
Adil Erdoğan: “I have known about this place for many years, but it is a great service that this place has come to light. Constructing the amphitheater faithfully to the original will also cause history to be relived. “The stones on display will inspire people to learn about their history.”
Female members met at a zumba and yoga event
Approximately 50 female members registered to the Women's Clubs had the opportunity to have fun and socialize by doing Zumba and Yoga at the "Mobility in Ankara Parks" event at the Dikmen Valley Amphitheater. Members who attended the event expressed their thoughts with the following words:
