In addition, the area where Ankaragücü Club Association was established will be redesigned as '1910 Ankaragücü Square'.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, who announced the start of the Çerkeş Street and Surroundings Urban Design Project with a post on his social media accounts, said, “We are starting our renewal project of Çerkeş Street and its surroundings, located in the Ulus Historical City Center. The 53 thousand square meter area, which will be renovated in a way that preserves its historical and architectural texture, will also be redesigned as '1910 Ankaragücü Square'. "In this way, our Ankaragücü fans and our history will come to life again," he said.
THERE ARE REGISTERED CIVIL ARCHITECTURE EXAMPLES
With the Çerkeş Street and Surroundings Urban Design Project, covering a total area of 53 thousand square meters; Çerkeş Street, which connects Şehit Teğmen Kalmaz Street and Adnan Saygun Street with a pedestrian route, and the streets surrounding this street, between Sanayi Street and Tenekeciler Street, will be revived and completely renovated in accordance with the historical texture, preserving its original structure.
In the project area where Çerkeş Street forms the backbone; In addition to the Suluhan, Eynebey Bath, historical İbadullah Mosque, Hacıdoğan Mosque, Karyağdı Tomb, Hatuniye Tomb and Fountain, Konuklar and Hacıdoğan Fountains, there are 60 registered examples of civil architecture.
HISTORICAL TEXTURE AND ARCHITECTURAL QUALITY OF THE PROJECT AREA WILL BE PRESERVED
With the Çerkeş Street and Surroundings Urban Design Project, buildings that are immovable cultural assets that are out of place will be rebuilt, while existing registered and unregistered buildings will be repaired and brought into use. The economy will be revitalized by reconsidering the current trade flow within the project borders.
NEW PUBLIC SPACES WILL BE CREATED
Within the scope of the project, where the historical street texture coming from old cadastral traces will be rediscovered; Areas without buildings will be re-evaluated and new public open spaces will be designed.
In the environmental arrangements to be made in newly created public areas, all details will be taken into consideration, from floor coverings to landscaping, from open green areas to improving the physical conditions on the historical trade axis and strengthening the pedestrian axis.
ANKARA WILL BE THE NEW MEETING AREA OF GÜÇÇLER
The area in front of the building where the Ankaragücü Club Association was established, between Pala Street, Çataldağ Street and Taşçılar Street within the project boundaries, was planned as a square.
The area, which is the pre-match gathering area for Ankaragücü fans, whose foundations were laid as İmalat-ı Harbiye in 1910, will be organized as 1019 Ankaragücü Square. In the new square, where physical conditions will be improved for the fans, there will be a goal where small sports events can be held, a shooting area, and activities such as table tennis for mini tournaments.
The sloping structure of the square was designed as flat and open spaces by creating terraces in the project. Within the scope of the project, it was suggested that the registered civil architecture building in the square be restored and operated as Ankaragücü Social Facility.
RENOVATION AND LANDSCAPE WORKS WILL BE CARRIED OUT
In the project, renovation and landscaping will be carried out in many areas as well as 1910 Ankaragücü Square.
The trade axis connecting Ulus Market, Fire Brigade Square and Melike Hatun Mosque will be rearranged, and the area in front of the historical Eynebey Bath will include food and beverage venues, exhibition panels, dry pools, entrance arrangements of the historical bazaar and other landscaping applications.
By creating a new staircase arrangement in the area where the Karyağdı Tomb is located, the tomb will be made more visible and easily visited. In the area including Hacıdoğan Mosque and Fountain; There will be a social facility and food and beverage venues, a dry pool and other landscaping elements in front of it. Physical conditions will be improved in the area where Çerkeş Street meets Posta Street and where İbadullah Mosque and Suluhan form the borders.
The area that provides the connection between Çerkeş Street and Sanayi Street and is currently used as an open car park was planned as a green area. This parking area serves as a gathering area in case of emergency, as well as being designed as an amphitheater that will enable activities for daily use.
