The amount of compensation was determined in the lawsuit filed against the financial advisor Saliha Köklü, who was disabled in the Çorlu train accident. Saliha Köklü, one of the 25 people who lost their lives in the accident and one of the 317 injured passengers, had to continue her life with a disability as a result of the accident. On behalf of Köklü, a lawsuit for compensation was filed against the General Directorate of State Railways Administration (TCDD) and Railways Transportation Inc.

In the lawsuit filed, 100 thousand liras of non-pecuniary damages were demanded. An expert report was requested for financial compensation. The report prepared by the actuarial account expert was submitted to Bakırköy 15th Consumer Court as an additional report dated May 8 of last year.

In the report, it was stated that Köklü could work until the age of 60. It was recorded that the temporary incapacity damage was 14 thousand 320 liras. It was stated that the loss of permanent incapacity for work was 1 million 103 thousand 396 liras.

After the parties have presented their defenses, the court is expected to make a decision. According to the case file, TCDD and Demiryolları Taşımacılık AŞ are jointly and severally liable. The compensation to be given by the court can be demanded from both companies.
